Julie is a Clinical Psychologist who has obtained the highest level of post-graduate qualifications in Clinical Psychology and has expertise in the treatment of a wide range of mental, emotional and relationship issues.
Julie believes it is a privilege and honour to support people in their journey to find the wisdom that is within and the courage to engage in a life worth living.
Julie uses a range of evidence based psychological treatments and abides by professional standards and ethical guidelines, which include issues such as confidentiality and duty of care.
She has a background of solid training as well as diverse work and life experiences. She has advanced training in a variety of areas including:

If you have a valid referral from a GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician you will not be charged a fee as Medicare will be billed directly on your behalf.
There is a high demand for bulk billing psychology services therefore there is a likelihood you will be placed on a waiting list. Due to Bay Islands Psychology being a 100% bulk billing service this means that the demand can be quite high. However, wait list times will vary.
If you have a valid referral from your GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician you will be eligible for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. These are generally provided in two blocks (6 sessions and then 4 sessions). All these sessions are 100% bulk billed.
Although, we will do our best to support you during a crisis, Bay Islands Psychology is not an emergency service and therefore is unable to guarantee a timely response to urgent messages left via phone, email or online during and outside of business hours. If you require urgent assistance and have not been able to get in contact with the clinic, please contact emergency services (e.g. call 000, or lifeline’s 24-hour telephone counselling service on 13 11 14) to provide crisis support.
Absolutely. Your information is kept secure and confidential and will not be disclosed to any other party, except under circumstances that are explained in Bay Islands Confidentiality Policy, which you will be told about in your first session.

To access counselling by Julie you will need to firstly visit a GP, psychiatrist, or pediatrician who will provide a referral and Mental Health Care Plan.
You can then contact Julie directly for an appointment.
No costs are involved to you as Julie bulk bills directly to Medicare on your behalf.
Bay Islands Psychology is located at 3 Cambridge Road, Russell Island and is easily accessed by the other South Moreton Bay Islands. If you are coming from Macleay, Lamb or Karragarra Islands it is about a 5 minute walk from the jetty. Walk up the hill, turn right into Bayview Road then left into Cambridge and it is on the right side of the street.
